Preparing Printing Files - Document Set Up Guide

How to set up your artwork

  • HD Print can print files up to 160cm wide for as long as you would like.

  • Always set your file up 5cm less than the width of the fabric - the width of the file is the width of your fabric.

  • We cannot assume that you need your file rotated, so please create it the way you need it printed.

  • The quality of our printing is determined by the quality of the artwork that you provide.

  • Exact Repeat: Files should be created to the exact repeat, with no border lines and no overlapping required. Please ensure the file is cropped to the exact height of the files repeat.

  • File DPI: DPI is at your own discretion. We can print anything from 72dpi to 300dpi. Please ensure that you view your file at 100% scale to check for any pixilation or ask us for a sample prior to printing.

  • Colours: Colours must not be expected from what is seen on a screen. Colours can differ significantly on screens when compared to what is printed on the fabric so please ask for a sample to confirm that the colours will be correct.

Artwork can be supplied in the following formats:

  • We prefer PDF’s, however you can supply EPS, PSD or JPEG files in either RGB or CMYK colour profile

  • Vector is best or Image files at 300dpi resolution at scale of print

  • Single repeat - if you require 10 metres of print, please don’t supply a 10m file. You only need to provide us with one or two repeats of your design.

  • File Faults - HD Print accepts no liability on file related error, any reprinting due to those errors are at the responsibility of the customer.

Providing Your Own Fabric

We accept customer supplied fabric but always ask that you send a small sample so that we can test print and make sure that is suitable for sublimation printing.

  • Polyester Fabric supplied MUST be 100% Polyester or a blend with at least 70% Polyester. The higher the polyester content the better the print outcome.

  • Please ensure that fabric is stable and can withstand 200°C-220°C for a period of 40 seconds

  • Fabric must always be supplied with an extra 2mtrs eg. if you need 10 metres of print, please supply 12 metres of fabric. If you are supplying rolls of fabric, each roll needs to have 2 metres extra accounted for.

  • All rolls of fabric sent in must be marked with which side you want printed, other we will print on the rolls face in.

  • Any yield loss due to the fabric running short or fabrics faults such as joins, loose threads, holes, dirty marks, ladders etc is not the responsibility of HD Print.
